Athletic Yogi

Known as “The Athletic Yogi”, Ed hybrids the tenets of hatha yoga into sport-specific workouts with his Flexibility For Athletes training philosophy. Ed’s “body OVER mind” approach allows the athlete or fitness enthusiast to unleash their internal power. Exercise becomes effortless as the brain watches the breath, the breath creates the rhythm, the rhythm creates the movement and the athlete experiences advanced concentration beyond the sense object.

This is a remarkable and new set of ideas.”

Eye opening experience”

Best thing to hit sports since interval training”

The breathing was amazing”

Changed not only my athletic attitude but has brought

new depth to my yoga practice”

The Power of Breath

Our body’s fuel is oxygen. By raising energy levels through the digestive fires in belly with breath, we allow the respiratory, cardiovascular and nervous systems to function properly and optimally. Using basic, intermediate and advanced yoga breathing techniques as Inspiratory Muscle Training, we harness the deeper energies of the body while maintaining balance in the autonomic nervous system.

The quickest and easiest way to take your body/mind to the next performance level is through yoga breathing sequencing in cardiovascular training. This combines the best of the early yogic systems into the current sports and fitness paradigm.

Ed Harrold is a highly experienced yoga instructor and practitioner dedicated to the application of fundamental yoga practices for the improvement of physical and mental health and human performance.  He has a particularly strong expertise in the role of yoga and yogic breathing practices in the enhancement of sports performance.”

Harvard Medical School at Brigham and Women’s Hospital

Cross-Patterning Yoga

I have a theory about body/mind movements that I’ve studied for years. It became clear after years of teaching these techniques, not just beginners, but seasoned yogis, that there was something very powerful about the methodology of a yoga practice and the human development of body/mind states of consciousness.

I’ve always been drawn to the laws of physics and have self-studied the work of Einstein, Newton and former NASA scientist Gregg Braden. Drawn to both the world of physics and yoga, I’ve uncovered what I refer to as “cross-patterning” yoga.

Cross-Pattering Yoga is based in the scientific principles of our DNA/RNA molecules. These strands of intelligent energy form a double helix in our human cellular body. When we utilize the crossing sequence mentally and physically of an X, we begin to see how all bodily movement starts and ends around the pushing and pulling of cells in the neuromuscular skeletal system.
